I am a Highly Qualified teacher. I graduated from Southside High School in Gadsden. I graduated from Jacksonville State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education in 1995. I also received my M.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama in 1998. Then in 2000, I received my Administration Certification from the University of Alabama. I received a Reading Recovery Certification from Georgia State University in 2008. I am currently working on my Ed.S. in English as a Second Language from UAB.

I am currently in my 24th year at Carlisle Elementary. I have taught first grade, second grade, and fourth grade. I was also counselor. I taught Reading Recovery for three years. I am presently teaching reading and math intervention. I have also taught computer science courses at Snead State Community College and was a lab assistant at the University of Alabama.
When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and my friends. I don't have any children of my own, but I do have a beautiful twenty-five year old niece I have helped raise. I also have a wonderful Miniature Schnauzer named Bella. I have a great church family in New Day Christian Center. In my free time, I love working on my computer and in my yard. I love going to the gym and exercising. The beach and reading books are my happy place.
