About Mr. Hubbard

Mr. Hubbard

My name is Matthew Hubbard. I am proud to be an educator at Carlisle Elementary School. One of the many reasons I am happy to be at Carlisle Elementary is that I was a student here myself. It gives me great pleasure to know that I am helping a new generation of Carlisle Cubs learn to roar!

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Jacksonville State University in 2010. In 2015, I graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with my Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language.

I was very honored to be chosen as the 2015-2016 Carlisle Teacher of the Year by my colleagues. I went on to be chosen as the 2015-2016 Etowah County Elementary Teacher of the Year, which is very special to me.

During my time at Carlisle, I have been in many roles. I spent two years as an instructional aide working with reading & math intervention, library classes, and P.E. classes. Before there was a Sardis Middle School, I taught sixth grade for two years here. I have been teaching fifth grade since 2014. I really enjoy working with fifth grade students and love to watch them learn and grow throughout the school year.

I love to learn! The more I learn, the more I realize that I don't know. I enjoy reading, listening to almost all types of music, and spending time with my family and friends.

My goal is for all of my students to be successful, and I truly believe that all of my students can be successful.
