My name is Amanda Fordham.  I am a highly qualified teacher based on the standards set by NCLB.  I graduated from Southside High School in 1997.  From there, I attended Jacksonville State University where I obtained a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. I have been teaching for ten years. I am currently a student at UAB where I am working on a Master's of Education degree in ESL.  I will graduate this December....WOOHOO!
This is my twelfth year of teaching.  I previously taught three years of Kindergarten for the Gadsden City Board of Education.  I then transferred to the Etowah County School System and came to Carlisle Elementary. This year I am teaching Language Arts to all fifth grade students.  I love teaching children.  There are few things that I have experienced that have given me as much joy as teaching a child.
My husband, Josh, and I live in Glencoe with our son, Hunter.  My time away from school is spent watching Hunter play the sports he loves, baseball and fishing, and relaxing on the lake.
