4th and 5th grade students may participate in the 4-H club during school. In 4‑H programs, students complete hands-on projects in areas like health, science, agriculture and civic engagement in a positive environment where they receive guidance from adult mentors and are encouraged to take on proactive leadership roles. The Etowah Youth Orchestra works with Etowah County schools to provide beginning strings classes. It is open to any 5th grade student at Carlisle. Classes are held on instruments such as violins and violas. The strings program is part of the Etowah Youth Orchestra operating through the Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts. Classes are held at school two days a week. Contact your child's 5th grade teacher for more information.
The Peer Helpers are a group of students who work to help their classmates and our school as a whole through various activities. 4th & 5th grade students may apply to become Peer Helpers. These students are then recommended by members of the faculty. Contact the school counselor for more information.
4th & 5th grade students who meet challenging academic standards are invited to join the National Elementary Honor Society. An annual induction ceremony is held in the spring for new members. Contact the school counselor if you have any questions.
5th Grade students may apply to become Safety Patrol Team members at the beginning of each school year. These students complete important jobs on campus, such as raising the American flag, helping younger students get to class, and assisting with afternoon dismissal.
