Farrell, Lisa

Hello! I am Lisa Farrell.  This will be my tenth year as a teacher at Carlisle Elementary School.  I  am very honored and blessed to be teaching at such a wonderful school. I currently teach third grade but have also taught second grade. I am a highly qualified teacher. I am a 2015 graduate of UAB with a Masters Degree in English Second Language, a 2007 graduate of Jacksonville State University with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education in which I graduated with honors, a 2001 graduate of Gadsden State Community College with an Associates Degree in Education, and a 1985 high school graduate of Southside High School. I completed my student teaching in Kindergarten at Mitchell Elementary School in Gadsden before graduating and becoming a teacher at Carlisle Elementary School.  Prior to graduating from college to become a teacher, I was a secretary for the State of Alabama for seven years, worked in banking for ten years as an administrative secretary, bank teller, and clerk and also spent several years in retail.

I have a wonderful family.  My husband and I have two daughters. Our oldest daughter is thirty and married and the youngest is twenty one and is in college. We live in Hokes Bluff and are members of Goodyear Heights Baptist Church.  I have been an adult member and volunteer with the Girl Scouts of America and the American Woodmen Youth Association.  My hobbies in my free time are reading, doing crossword puzzles, working out at the gym with my family, traveling, and  spending quality time with my family.

I am very excited about having your child in my room this year.  We will be learning many new and exciting things and doing many activities together. Your child's education and welfare are very important to me and I want to do all that I can to make your child's learning experience the best it can be.  If you ever need to contact me about anything, please send me a note or e-mail me at Lisa_Farrell@ecboe.org.
